Corrado introduced
Volkswagen launches the Corrado as a Karmann-built sports coupé positioned above the Scirocco, debuting the signature active rear spoiler.
1988–1992
G60 era
The supercharged 1.8 G60 becomes the performance flagship — the model that established the Corrado's enthusiast credentials.
1991/1992
VR6 era begins
Depending on market, the narrow-angle 2.8 or 2.9 VR6 arrives — refining the front end and turning the Corrado into a genuine GT.
1995
Production ends
After roughly seven years and just under 100,000 cars built at Osnabrück, Corrado production ends without a direct successor.
